The latest restaurant to hit Leeds White Rose Centre
Have you ever tried Indian street food before? And if not…why not? After a trip to Trinity Kitchen in September, I discovered a new found love for Indian street. And I was especially surprised by Indian vegan options!
So when Pavs Dhaba got in touch and asked if I’d like to pop along to the opening, it was definitely a no brainier. I was super excited to try more Indian street food and sample more amazing flavours and spices. Read on to discover more about Pavs Dhaba.
What food is on offer at Pavs Dhaba?
So like I’ve already said, you won’t get your chicken tikka or veggie korma at Pavs Dhaba. Instead you’ll get loads of snack sized street food. Think spring rolls, samosas and pakora!
here’s also a wide range of veggie, vegan and chicken curries on offer too. There’s not much cream in the curries on offer, but this korma loving gal got along just fine without it
What food did we go for?
We opted for the popadoms and dips as an appetiser…Can anyone really resist that yogurt dip though?
Next we choose the pakora and the veggie sharing platter for starter. I’ve never actually had pakora before and my boyfriend claimed it was basically like Indian halloumi. I probably wouldn’t agree with that description, but it was very tasty with a good mount of kick from the spice! The veggie platter was also a winner! The spices were so much better than anything you’d expect in your standard Indian restaurant. It just tasted much more authentic, which I loved!
For mains we opted for the thali Indian street food. With me getting the veggie and Dan choosing the meat option. The curries were packed full of flavour without the addition of cream and just the right level of heat. All the curries just tasted healthy, but it in the best possible way!
I loved the fact there was quite a few flavours of curry with your dish. It just give you more opportunity to try more flavours and textures!
My verdict on Pavs Dhaba
I absolutely loved attending the opening of Pavs Dhaba and getting the chance to sample the menu. It’s the perfect selection of food to grab when you’re after a quick bite mid shopping. I didn’t think anything I tried was overly heavy. So you don’t get that usual Indian curry carb bloat!
Not to mention, the cocktails are a bargain too! There’s a wide selection on offer and they’re all 2 for £10.
So next time you’re in Leeds White Rose, why not pop into Pavs Dhaba and try a whole load of new flavours? Honestly, your taste buds will thank you for it!
