The fake tan for when you have no time to tan!

Like a lot of girls out there, I’m a bit of a fake tan addict. I’m not talking popping to tesco so I need to be tanned level. But for a night out, I feel so much more confident with a natural looking glow. I’ve reviewed skinny tan products before, click here to view! And I was lucky enough to receive their new Express Mouse, along with a few other goodies. Hope you enjoy the review!

So I was lucky enough to receive an exfoliating dual mitt, (one side for exfoliating, the other for removing excess tan!) the dual tanning mitt, the pre-tan primer and the brand new express mousse.

So the first time I used the tan, I followed the instructions on the box and ran myself a bath, taking the exfoliating mitt and primer with me. I’m so bad when it comes to exfoliating my skin. A shower poofy thing and a bottle of radox is normally as far as I go! But afterwards the primer left my skin feeling soooo soft. And talking about softness…the tanning mitt is amazing. I’d never thought I could be obsessed with a tanning mitt, but it’s just so silky! Once you feel this, you’d never go back to them cheap ones of Boots/Superdrug!

I’ve actually never used mousse fake tan before, so didn’t really know what to expect! You can leave the express mousse on for an hour, two hours, or overnight. Depending on how deep you want the tan to look. Which is such a good idea, ’cause who really has the time to tan? I decided to leave it on overnight, go hard or go home right? As you can see below it goes on quite dark, making it so easy to achieve an even tan. Although it doesn’t have the amazing smell of some of their other products. Instead it just doesn’t really smell of anything, which I suppose is what you want from a fake tan.

This is the colour I was left with after a quick shower that morning. As you can see it’s really natural looking, (thinking two weeks in marbs colour) and not at all orange! Just for colour and application, this is my favourite product from the Skinny Tan range. So once I’ve used up the huge bottle, I’ll definitely be stocking up!

My spring Primark look book

Before you read on, I apologise for the quality of the photos and the lightening in Primark changing rooms! If anyone from Primark light department is reading this, take it from me, it really needs sorting out! Sooo, anyway I’ve put together a few of my favourite looks I’ve found in Middlesbrough Primark. Hope you enjoy the read!

(note the grey mules are from Miss Selfridge and NOT Primark)

My first two looks are both day dresses/mule combinations. The dress on the left was only £6, but the material was fab! Miss Selfridge sell a lot of these style dresses, and with me being Miss Selfridge’s biggest fan at the moment, I couldn’t turn down a £6 steal. I actually ended up buying this dress in nude, but I’m seriously regretting not buying this colour too.

Can we just talk about how amazing the floral mules too? They’re very very similar to ones I’ve seen on public desire. But at £16, they’re about half the price! The quality was so good too. And if I hadn’t had just bought some platforms out of Topshop (oops!), I’d have definitely bought these too!

The smock on the right is being dubbed the dress of the summer. Pinstripe…CHECK! Statement sleeves…CHECK! Random cute print…CHECK! It’s basically the dress that hits all the summer trends. At £13 you can’t really go wrong, can you. And at 5ft3, it’s still such a good length on me!

The second two looks are all about stripes! Look one features a £5 stripe jersey top with tied statement sleeves. If you have me on instagram, you’ll know I LOVE statement sleeves. This top is perfect if you want work the trend into your everyday wardrobe. All I’d say is go down a size! This is size 6 on me (I’m usually a 6), and it’s a bit big. I was already wearing the jeans (Topshop coated Joni) if you were wondering!

I’m so obsessed with this body on the right. I come soooo close to buying a very similar out of Topshop a few days ago (£20 more obviously!) I’m going to post a better photo on my instagram tomorrow, because this one really doesn’t do it justice. Click here to follow if you don’t already! It’s a lovely suede material, however it is a bit thin…But what can you really expect for £6? The quality of this skirt was AMAZING. You’d actually think it was RI or Topshop! And can you ever really go wrong with a stripped skirt? So if you’re looking for a new going out skirt and you’ve got £8 spare, you know where to go!

And finally can we just talk about this £8 bag? A marble print bag is every blogger’s dream. And throw in a dash of colour, makes this bag so pretty and perfect for summer.

Get the ultimate glow

Before I start this post, I want you guys to know I’m not really a big fan of powder highlighters. This is just because I feel like creamy formulas are much more pigmented and blend-able. A review to fave ever highlighter Benefit’s whatts up is here!  However I was feeling a bit brave one payday, and bought the Ultimate Glow Kit by ABH.  (Honestly beauty bay you will be the death of me!) As soon as I hit checkout, I definitely had mixed emotions after watching £44  worth of highlight leave my bank account. A full review is below!

All I have to say about this palette is OMG! The COLOURS, the PIGMENT, the SHIMMER! It’s like no other powder highlight I’ve ever got my hands on before. The palette just isn’t in the same league as anything you’ll find in a drugstore! I’m not really a highlighter fan really, I’m more of a bronzer/blusher kinda girl. But this palette will convert you in a highlight fanatic. I can’t even go to the gym without a glow now!

I’ve been mixing shades Amber Gold and Snow, to achieve a dark champagne shade.  A full swatch of the palette is below.

( L-R: Sunray, Amber Gold, Hot Sand, Golden Dawn, White Sand, Snow)

Considering the other ABH glow palettes are £39 on beauty bay. I don’t think £44 for an extra 2 shades is that bad? Just after you wrap your head round the fact you’ve just paid nearly £50 for highlighter. But if you want to invest in a good highlighter palette, I’d reccomend just purchasing this one!

Are you a fan of the glow palettes? Do you recommend any other highlighters? Let me know in the comments!
